Journey to Adulthood The youth program for Christ Church is based on the Journey to Adulthood Curriculum for the Episcopal Church. Youth grades 6-12 are invited to participate in one of three programs – Rite-13 (6th & 7th grades), J2A (8th & 9th grades), or YAC (10th-12th grades). All three groups focus on journeying into adulthood through spiritual development. Through this program, youth participate in several rites of passage into adulthood including the Rite-13 service around their thirteenth birthday, an Urban Adventure which helps them to understand ways in which God works in the world, confirmation into the Episcopal Church, a spiritual pilgrimage, and mission trip. All programs meet Sunday mornings 10:00-10:50 . Additionally, groups meet at various other times for fellowship and activities. If you or someone you know would like more information on the Journey to Adulthood, please contact the church office or visit us on Sunday.
Youth Groups
Groups also meet on Sunday evenings to further engage aspects of spirituality, sexuality, self, and society. On Sunday evenings, youth in grades 6-8 and 9-12 gather for community service, worship, fellowship, study, and light meal. The group participates monthly in Church Under the Bridge, a meal and worship service for the homeless and marginally housed.
